Containment Overflow
$5,200.00
A series of five pieces.
I also wanted to explore my thoughts and feelings surrounding my journey around chronic depression, and self-evaluation. In this particular piece, I’m exploring how the different facets interlink together and have been explored in depth. When you watch this in-depth you may see different aspects slowly reveal themselves and I think that is the same with life patterns and self-evaluation.
This piece was also inspired by wanting to explore how I could play with the layering technique that I have been using for many of my pieces. Half of the layers are hidden in order to separate and empathise the visual layers.
I really enjoyed putting this piece together combining the size and 12 layers that make up this piece. It took two months from the conception of the idea, to binding the piece together, making it one of my most labour-intensive pieces.
Each layer of paper has been hand cut using acid-free paper and a surgical blade and bounded together with acid-free glue.
This work is presented in a complementary frame.
