When I first started my practice I really enjoyed creating symmetrical pieces, whether it was in a form of a mandala styled pattern or a pattern like this. This was one of several commissions I created that year. I look back at these pieces fondly as I really enjoyed that I did everything by hand, from drawing the pattern to cutting it out with a scalpel. I love the simplicity of it and love where my work has evolved.
